But as I stand there, anxiety starts to fill me. The room is warm, and too many people are watching my reaction at this point in the game; they must know how nervous it makes me feel when someone says, “Ready?” My heart begins beating faster while all around us, we hear excited cheers from other couples about to get started on their wedding night, whether or not either had been married before (and if so, did they divorce?).
I start towards them – eager yet hesitant – knowing full well what may happen next: Getting down onto one knee will be easy afterward if only everything went smoothly beforehand!
When I walked into the bedroom, two people were waiting for me. The foremost thing that got my attention was their smile—they seemed so happy to see each other! It made all of this worth it in some way, even though, at times, you may question why or how did get her. I know deep down inside that if things go south, someone will be suitable by your side with open arms wanting nothing more than giving their love back just as much as possible because they understand what it’s like having an empty heart where nobody understands or cares.
The sheets were soft and white, making my tan look even better. The purple lingerie looked nice with lavender pillow accents- it wasn’t all that bad having someone standing over the top of me with both feet on either side just waist high so they could help guide us through our first time together as husband and wife!
As I look up at the little round piece of reflecting glass, I hear my photographer cooing over how beautiful it is that we’re capturing these moments for posterity. Now, as she fusses with adjusting her settings on the camera lens or lighting equipment – something tells me this may be another perfect shot- one which will make history books to later generations about what life was really like during our time here on Earth; especially if there are no aliens able stop them before they destroy humanity!
My friend recommended clip-in hairpieces, which made sense because lately, I’ve been doing things outside normal boundaries – like this sexy shoot before a wedding engagement! I am in the following pose; my photographer tells me to give her “bedroom eyes” and flip hair. I follow suit by laughing when she almost topples off of bed onto the floor with all those extensions from last night’s bender–you know how it is; long but not enough oomph for you?
When I decided to get boudoir photos taken as a gift for my new husband, everyone else seemed like they had already done it. So instead of following suit and just doing what everybody else was doing at the time, too-I wanted something that would show him how much he means to me: not only with words but also financially (and emotionally). This body is yours; let’s document its beauty together before birthdays & age ruin everything!
The pose I love the most is called “Yoga Poses,” and it’s so much fun!
I did splurge on one unique piece of lingerie from Edge ó Beyond that takes quite some time to get into with several strappy things going this way and that, but wow, does it look smoking hot once everything has been put into place? Now onto the next position, which Critsey describes as a yoga poste. I will probably be sore tomorrow morning after all these workouts-but not before!!!
As I listen to the photographer directing me in yet another sexy pose, this time with my heels on a footstool and arching myself across a couch for him while looking back at the camera. The whole experience seems very empowering- maybe even enough that next year might be wiser too! I find myself feeling pretty great about it all.
