Skin Care for a Professional Glow

Exfoliate and moisturize the skin as often as possible to reduce the buildup of oils that get trapped in the pores and cause blemishes. A sugar scrub is an excellent life hack that will help to keep your skin clean and vibrant for the event. Moisturizing even the lips and eyelids can help to create a sense of continuity throughout the entire face. There are many products on the market that claim to give you an extra glow when cleaning the skin, and you may wish to try a variety of them to uplift your beautiful presence.

Certain things can be done for the skin such as applying cucumber which helps to tighten areas around the eyes and relax the muscles in the face so you have a knock out demeanor. If you happen to be outdoors before the shoot then it’s important to wear sunscreen to protect from sunburn. Most importantly, don’t forget to drink lots of water! No matter what, it’s important to take proper care of your skin before you attend your Boudoir session.

Legs for Days

One of the first considerations before attending your much anticipated photo shoot is to remove any unwanted body hair and give your skin a soft glow that is unmatched. The tiniest details might show up in your photos, so it is wise to not neglect them. Most clients give a little extra care to shaving or waxing right befhore their shoot, but keep in mind, shaving can create unwanted blemishes so it’s important to exercise caution. If you chose waxing, we advise this method is done at least a day beforehand to minimize potential redness or skin irritations if it occurs.

We suggest that you pay attention to the smaller details as well like eyebrows, underarms, and panty lines. If you’re going to be showing a lot of skin then waxing is a great option, but there are also special creams that dissolve body hair if you’re worried about the stinging pain. No matter what your preferred method, make sure you are comfortable and confident when you enter the studio.

Hype Up Your Hydration

People often underestimate the power of hydration in nourishing healthy skin, and it can add an element of vitality to your overall demeanor. Posing during a photo shoot can be a tiring yet exciting experience and it’s important to give your body the necessary amounts of water to encourage clear thinking and flexible muscles. Vitamins and minerals can give you an extra boost when attending any session and our personal trainers give you suggestions in diet before a shoot if you’re looking to tone down a bit.

The human body primarily consists of water and that fact speaks volumes to its importance. When shooting it’s a wise choice to have bottled water nearby for continued hydration to avoid feeling faint. It may seem like a rare occurrence, but certain tighter items of clothing won’t make you feel as woozy if you’re hydrated. Water is your best friend in this circumstance as you will be switching positions a lot and doing poses that require full body muscle activity. It also encourages clear thinking and a healthy smile with flexible movement. Water is an underutilized effective tool that we encourage you to try if it’s not already abundantly in your beauty regimen.

What to Wear

This topic can be subjective to the desires of the individual, but there are certain rules that one should adhere to for a successful session. You should bring at least 2-3 favorite outfits to accompany you for the shoot, or chose from our provided selection, and make sure that they fit your body and desired look before coming to the studio. Regarding your undergarments it’s important to make sure that they fit properly and hug your body like you want. If they are too loose then you may want to consider going down a size.

Don’t try to squeeze into something that simply doesn’t fit the contour of your body. Not only that, but you must make certain that the clothing is true to yourself and fits your unique personality and style. This being said, it’s also important to step outside the box and your comfort zone at times and we encourage you to explore different styles and make an informed decision. Avoid lingerie with busy patterns because they can distract from your natural beauty. Although high heels are popular, don’t think that it’s a requirement for your boudoir photoshoot.

Hair and Nail Care for a Vibrant Shoot

Your hair can speak volumes. Hair can take on many colors and styles of your preference, adding texture and attitude to your boudoir personality. It’s important that on the day of your shoot your hair is clean and adequately styled, unless you chose our in-house stylists. Too crazy hair can also distract from the beauty of your face and body if it’s too flashy or intricate. Subtle yet sexy is a common middle ground that doesn’t take away from your body. Having your nails done prior to the shoot can save time and stress and natural nails are the preferred way to go.

An important step one can take to enrich your hair and nails is utilize special vitamins which contain collagen and other minerals for skin and nail vibrancy. Nutrition is where healthy skin, nails and hair start and taking these vitamins along with foods that discourage inflammation and free radical damage is a fantastic idea when prepping for your session. Fruits and vegetables are a great option that will help your body glow and feel healthy. We encourage hair products that utilize biotin and collagen along with B7 to strengthen the strands and give them extra shine.
